Carb Counter
Carb counter guides should be exactly that. Guides. Not rules that you have to get weird about. You can be a carb counter without being a psycho.
Be A Smart Carb Counter, But Not An Obsessive One
Don't be one of those carb counter psychos
You know the kind of person we are talking about. Maybe you are that person, for all we know. Counting every last carbohydrate you consume over the course of a day as if one or two extra is going to f--king kill you. Talking about your South Beach Diet and other such nonsensical ideas as if they were the gospel, or the rest of just really give a rat's behind. Look. We know what you are trying to do, and that's lose weight. Which is admirable, it really is. But perhaps this obsessive carb counter crap is not the best way to go about it. Maybe that's just one small part of the puzzle by which you can get healthier.
- If you are a freak about being a carb counter, and don't ever let yourself eat carbohydrates, how do you ever expect to have the energy to go on living? Do you really think you are going to get the full supply of nutrients that you need?
- Carbs give you energy to burn, so cutting them down altogether may not be the smartest idea you ever came up with.
- It's not always as cut and dried as people try to make it. Just because you are all crazy about being a carb counter does not mean that what you are cutting out, and counting as if your life depends on it, is all bad. There are some carbohydrates that are better than others. Just like there are some fats that are better than others, and so on and so forth.
- The key to being a good carb counter is to make sure you get all that you need out of your diet, and that includes carbs. But it also includes proteins and fats and sugars and fruits and vegetables in moderation.
There is also the matter of exercising. No diet is going to cut the mustard if you don't get out of the house and really get that blood flowing. So no matter how stringently you use your expensive carb counter, you have to remember these facts.
