The down side of a low carb diet

The reason why so many people have failed with their low carb diet is that none of the diets that were the most popular gave any thought to overall health. They catered only to those who wanted to lose the most weight they could in the shortest possible time. As they knew, and everyone else should have as well, the slower that you lose weight, the more likely you are to keep it off. But, most of us want to believe that there is an easy button out there and they will take whatever comes along. And so people suffered through a few weeks of limited carbs, saw a few pounds come off and then dropped the diet.

Also there was never an emphasis placed on the amount of exercise that we should all be doing at the same time that we are dieting. Most people that went on a low carb diet assumed that with this diet you do not have to exercise, but we all have to get a fair amount of exercise if we want to be and stay healthy. You can also up your carb intake on many of these diets when you are also exercising, but still most of us were content to stay on the couch.
